first_imgWILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington Public Schools has begun advertising for a Director of Technology and Digital Learning.  The posting can be found HERE.  Key highlights of the posting is below:Job Title: Director of Technology & Digital LearningApplication Deadline: Posted Until FilledStarting Date: July 1, 2019Job DescriptionThe Director of Technology & Digital Learning for the Wilmington Public Schools reports to the Superintendent of Schools and is a member of the district’s Senior Leadership Team. The Director serves in the role to plan, lead and implement operational programs and services that support the technological operations of the district including within the areas of instructional and administrative technologies. This includes the broad areas of network resources, computer and audio visual technology and digital learning throughout our classroom and programs.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Review, develop and implement the district’ s technology plan and report annually to the MA DESE2. Supervise the department’s personnel and share joint supervisory responsibilities with building principals/directors over integration specialists3. Coordinate and provide professional development for administrators, teachers, and staff related to technology integration in educational programs and services4. Plan and oversee the department’s budgetary planning in order to support the district’s technology plan including the purchase and acquisition of services, hardware and software5. Manage and oversee the district’s network and infrastructure6. Supervise and manage the district’s email system, student information systems, website, phone/voicemail, camera and door security systems7. Supervise and manage the data reporting to the MA DESE (i.e. SIMS, EPIMS, etc.) and the federal government8. Foster and maintain effective relationships with entities in the private sector and higher education to help support and enhance technology in our schools9. Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team as well as the district’s instructional leaders to plan, develop and implement appropriate professional development for staff10. Reestablish and chair the district Technology Committee11. Collaborate with Student Support Services to implement assistive technology for Special Education students12. Ensure District compliance with federal and state technology mandates and initiatives as well as state and federal laws (i.e. CIPA, document retention, etc.)13. Maintain and inventory of software purchases and licenses14. Monitor network related security issues15. Lead and implement 1:1 district initiatives16. Seek grant opportunities to assist in acquiring, maintaining and improving technology district-wide17.
