About the authorPaul VegasShare the loveHave your say Argentina coach Scaloni reveals injury for Man City striker Agueroby Paul Vegas12 days agoSend to a friendShare the loveManchester City striker Sergio Aguero has been carrying a calf injury and has not been in full training. The problem was revealed by his Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni, who left him out of the national squad for the current international break.Scaloni did not reveal the nature of the injury, but he hinted that it is nothing serious by saying he expected Aguero to join up with Argentina for the next international fortnight, which is next month. He said, “(Lionel) Messi is not here due to suspension. “Sergio Aguero is not here because he’s been carrying a problem and has not been training 100 per cent with his club. Surely both will be here next month.”
Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni said the pressure on his players made it feel like they were at war after a 2-0 win over Qatar earned them a place in the Copa America quarter-finals.Goals from Lautaro Martinez and Sergio Aguero ensured the Albiceleste avoided a potential banana skin on a night when defeat would have sent them crashing out of the competition at the first hurdle.Victory teed up a quarter-final clash with Group A runners-up Venezuela and Scaloni admitted the result was a welcome one after a gruelling start to the competition. I always think of the national team.”I would like the message to be different, to be balanced at the end of the tournament. Everything surrounding the national team should be more balanced.”Sometimes, these guys go out to play a soccer game and they seem to go out and play a war. With the pressure on them sometimes it is difficult to play.”The message should be that while playing in the Copa America we are all on the same side.”Argentina have only won silverware twice since 1993, with both of those being gold medals at the Olympic Games in 2004 and 2008, while they came closest in recent history at the 2014 World Cup when they lost to Germany in the final.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said he will not “spoon feed” Alexis Sanchez as the Chilean looks to get his Manchester United career back on track. Sanchez has mostly disappointed since joining United from Arsenal in January 2018, coming over in a swap deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan move in the other direction. The 30-year-old has scored just five total goals in 45 appearances for United, including only one goal in the Premier League last season. Ox-rated! Dream night in Genk for Liverpool ace after injury nightmare Messi a man for all Champions League seasons – but will this really be Barcelona’s? Sanchez has been linked with an exit from Old Trafford this summer, but his massive salary of £500,000 per week will make any transfer difficult. Solskjaer, though, didn’t reveal much when asked if he was planning on having Sanchez at Old Trafford this season, saying: “At the moment, yes I am.”The manager was then asked if he thought it was possible for Sanchez to get back to his best, and he again demurred. “I will have to help, but you can’t spoon feed them,” Solskjaer said. “They’ve got to come in and grab their chances.”Alexis is quality and he showed it in Copa America. Then he got his injury. I don’t think it’s too bad so I’m hoping he will be available for maybe Kristiansund [on July 30] or AC Milan [four days later] so he will at least get some football before the season starts.”After scoring two goals in the tournament’s first five games, Sanchez suffered a hamstring injury in Chile’s 2-1 defeat to Argentina in the Copa America third-place playoff earlier this month. Sanchez is not the only player who may depart Old Trafford this summer, with Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku among a host of other names to be linked with an exit from the club. Solskjaer said he wanted to give Pogba a “new challenge” with United after the France star spoke out about his desire to leave last month.Lukaku has been linked with a move to Inter and though Solskjaer didn’t deny the potential sale, he insisted that United would need a backup plan for it to happen. “If we sell players we will have to replace them,” Solskjaer said. The manager also made clear that there were no easy fixes to be found in the transfer market. “I know it’s hard getting players in and over the line,” he said.”We’ve been doing our jobs. We’ve been finding, identifying players. Scouting them. But they have got clubs.”It took time with Aaron (Wan-Bissaka), it took time with Dan (Daniel James), but they got it over the line. It’s not like we’re going to sign 10 players. It can’t be a quick fix.”As I’ve said to you, we’re working on one or two and we’re still hoping but I also understand that the market has changed. Prices have soared.” Check out Goal’s Premier League 2019-20 fantasy football podcast for game tips, debate and rivalries.

Considering that weather conditions could favor the team that has more success on the ground, the status of LJ Scott is crucial for Mark Dantonio’s squad.Last weekend, the senior tailback was out of action against Maryland. Although the Spartans were still victorious, defeating the Buckeyes is easily the tougher task.Injuries have hurt Scott’s season, causing him to miss five games.
